Educational visits are an important part of school life at William Murdoch Primary School and contribute significantly to pupils’ learning. These off-site visits provide valuable opportunities for pupils to learn through real-life and hands-on experiences.
Each year group participates in a minimum of three educational visits per academic year, designed to support, extend and enrich classroom learning. Where appropriate, visits are carefully planned to align with curriculum objectives.
One of these visits includes a local place of worship, supporting pupils’ Religious Education by developing their understanding of different faiths and beliefs.
In addition, external workshops and visiting specialists are invited into school to support and enhance classroom learning, providing pupils with engaging, interactive and memorable curriculum-linked experiences.
Parents and carers are informed of the dates, times and details of educational visits well in advance, including information about costs, consent and any necessary arrangements, so that all visits can be planned and organised effectively.
