Pupils in Year 5 and Year 6 have the opportunity to attend an annual residential visit, which takes place in the summer term.
We regularly visit Govilon Learning and Activity Centre, near Abergavenny in Wales. The visit typically lasts for three nights and provides pupils with an excellent opportunity to engage with the outdoor environment, challenge themselves, develop independence, and take part in activities that are not easily accessible in a school setting.
These activities include gorge walking, rock climbing, canoeing and bushcraft.
During the visit, it is always rewarding to see pupils grow in confidence, develop resilience, and challenge themselves to try new experiences that may initially seem outside of their comfort zone.
Details regarding the residential visits are shared with parents and carers well in advance, including information about activities, accommodation, costs, consent and payment schedules. Places are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.
